Our Breeding Program

As a small hobby breeder we produce 1-2 well planned litters per year.  All of our Labradors are house dogs and are part of our family.  Our goal for our puppies is for them to go into loving homes as companions and as a member of their new family.  We ask many questions to match you and your family with the best puppy to suit your needs, expectations, etc.

We sell all of our puppies with a one-year written health guarantee and a Limited Registration to assure that the qualities we strive for in the breed we adore are maintained in all future Labrador litters.

We feed high quality food to our Labs and puppies to ensure the health and longevity of our litters.  Our Labradors are CERF'd annually to prevent PRA (progressive retinal atrophy).  We also have all hips and elbows x-rayed  to be sure our dogs are free of any dysplasia.

Breed History

The Labrador Retriever originated in Newfoundland. This water dog worked for Newfoundland’s fishermen. The fishing boats could not come close to shore so it was the dog’s task to swim in the icy water, dragging the full fishnets to the men on shore. They were natural retrievers even then.

The general appearance of the Labrador should be that of a strongly built, short-coupled, very active dog. He should be fairly wide over the loins and strong and muscular in the hindquarters. The coat should be short, dense and free from feather.  The three colors of a Labrador are black, chocolate, and yellow.

The English Kennel Club recognized the breed in 1903.  The American Kennel Club in 1917.

In 1991 the Labrador Retriever became recognized as the most popular breed in the world, where it has remained to this very day.
